Terms of Service
These terms are an agreement between you and ToolMints. By using the site you accept them. If you do not accept them, please do not use the service.
1. What ToolMints is
ToolMints is a free online media utility website. Version 1.1 provides two tools: a Video Download tool and an Audio Download tool. You submit a link to a media file or page; our processing service retrieves the media where it is permitted to do so, converts it to the format you selected, and gives you a temporary link to download the result.
ToolMints does not own, host, control, licence or endorse third-party media. We are a processing tool, not a content library, and we make no claim to any rights in the material you submit.
2. Your responsibility for the content you submit
You must have the legal right, permission or other lawful basis to download and convert any content you submit. That is your responsibility, not ours. You are solely responsible for how you use the output.
3. Prohibited uses
The Acceptable Use Policy forms part of these terms. In short, you must not use ToolMints for copyright infringement or unauthorised distribution, to circumvent DRM, paywalls, logins or any other access control, to process illegal content, to scrape or overload the service with automated traffic, to probe or bypass our security, to reach private or internal network resources, or to attack the service or its users.
ToolMints applies these limits server-side. We do not accept every URL: requests that fail our source, safety or rights checks are refused with a clear message rather than worked around.
4. Copyright and intellectual property
You keep any rights you have in the content you submit. The ToolMints name, brand, interface and code remain ours. If you believe material was processed through ToolMints in a way that infringes your rights, contact us at support@toolmints.com with details and we will respond, including by blocking sources where appropriate. Note that ToolMints does not store finished media beyond its short expiry window.
5. Abuse prevention and automated access
We apply rate limits, request-size, duration and concurrency limits, and abuse detection. Automated, scripted or bulk use, reselling access, or evading limits is not permitted, and we may throttle, block or suspend access that we reasonably consider abusive.
6. Service availability, processing and temporary links
ToolMints is provided on an as-is and as-available basis. Media processing is performed by an isolated processing service and depends on third-party infrastructure and on the source platform. Jobs can fail, time out or be refused — for example when a source is unsupported, protected, offline, too large or too long. A failed job is reported as failed; we never present a failure as a success.
Download links are temporary and capability-restricted. They expire after a short window and the underlying temporary files are deleted automatically. ToolMints is not a storage service: download your file promptly and keep your own copy.
7. Third-party services
ToolMints relies on third parties, including our media processing host, our database and authentication provider, our payment processor (Stripe) and our advertising partner (Google). Their services are governed by their own terms and privacy policies, and we are not responsible for their content or availability.
8. Accounts
An account is optional and only needed for Premium. You are responsible for keeping your credentials secure and for activity under your account. Tell us promptly if you suspect unauthorised access.
9. Premium subscriptions and billing
Premium is a recurring digital subscription: $1.99 per week or $5.99 per month, charged in advance in US dollars through Stripe, renewing automatically at the same interval until cancelled. Premium removes advertising across ToolMints, removes download interstitials, raises rate and media limits, and gives priority processing. Prices shown at checkout are always the ones configured on our server.
You can cancel future renewals at any time through the billing portal linked from the Premium page. Cancellation keeps your access until the end of the period you already paid for, after which the account returns to the free tier. If a renewal payment fails, Stripe may retry; if it ultimately fails, Premium ends and advertising returns. Cancellation, renewal and refund handling is set out in the Refund & Cancellation Policy.
10. Donations
Donations are voluntary one-off payments between $1 and $500. A donation is not a purchase, grants no Premium access, features or limits, and is generally non-refundable — see the Refund & Cancellation Policy for the exceptions we do honour.
11. Advertising
Free use of ToolMints is funded by third-party advertising. Advertisements are clearly labelled, never required to be clicked, never delay your download, and are never presented as ToolMints controls. We are not responsible for the content of third-party advertisements or the sites they link to. Premium subscribers are shown no advertising. See the Privacy Policy for how advertising and consent data is handled.
12. Privacy
Our handling of personal data is described in the Privacy Policy, which forms part of these terms.
13. Changes to the service and to these terms
We may add, change, limit or discontinue features, tools or limits at any time. We may update these terms; the current version is always published here. Material changes to Premium pricing or billing will not apply to a period you have already paid for. Continuing to use ToolMints after a change means you accept the updated terms.
14. Suspension and termination
We may suspend or terminate access — with or without notice where the situation requires it — for breach of these terms, abuse, fraud, security risk or legal requirement. You may stop using ToolMints at any time and may request deletion of your account. If we terminate an active paid period without cause, we will refund the unused part of that period.
15. Disclaimers
To the maximum extent permitted by law, ToolMints is provided without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, uninterrupted or error-free operation, or that a particular source, format or quality will work. You are responsible for the legality of your own use.
16. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, ToolMints is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost data, lost profits or lost media. Where liability cannot be excluded, our total liability for any claim is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the three months before the claim, or $50. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including for fraud, death or personal injury caused by negligence, or your non-waivable consumer rights.
17. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, United States, without regard to conflict of law rules, and the courts of that state have jurisdiction. If you are a consumer resident elsewhere, this does not deprive you of the protection of mandatory consumer law in your country of residence.
